About Tommy
Thomas was greatly influenced from an early age by his father, a painter, and his mother, a gifted English teacher. Drawing, painting, building, reading and music were always encouraged and laid the foundation for a life dedicated to the arts.
Upon graduating Florida State University in 1988, Thomas started a successful commercial photography studio in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, focusing on weddings and corporate events. Thomas’ studio was one of the first in Florida to go completely digital, giving him new capabilities that would lead to a very successful and busy photography business. A decade later, with over 1,000 weddings and numerous commercial assignments completed, Thomas returned to creating his own style of fine art photography using film and traditional darkroom light and chemistry. This led to Thomas going back to school to earn his Masters Degree in Photography from Barry University, Miami, Florida.
Currently Thomas has relocated to the Ocala, Florida area to dedicate more time photographing one of his greatest passions – horses and the equine lifestyle, while also pursuing all of the photographic opportunities that the natural environments of North Florida present.
